World Facts

Xenophon, before he became the being he is now, gained sentience and fell for a lost human astronaut at the edge of the universe. After said human left he changed his form and decided to start a family on Earth. Neph was the first person he met there, and with his help Xeno became a caring member of society (but may have inadvertently messed up the town they live in)

"Crustaceans"

Neph is of a species that is referred to as 'crustaceans' in English (because they resemble Earth crustaceans) and he along with his coworkers originally lived on their home planet Sio J00X (an ice planet) before moving to Earth.

Crustaceans have the technology to transfer themselves into separate bodies disguised as other species. This tech is only (legally) used by those with a permit.

Synthetic Humans

As their name suggests, they take on the appearance of humans. Their true origin and original purpose is unknown. They are currently considered Earthlings, but the majority were not born on Earth. Instead, they are born from “mother bushes”contained in space ships. A Mother Planet is believed to exist that no one knows how to get back to.

As long as their inner-brain and inner-heart are intact, a Synthetic Human can be healed from almost any injury or unnatural death. Their body parts are both reconstructable and replaceable. If one dies from sickness or old age, their body will begin to dissolve, including the inner-brain.

It’s possible to switch brains with one another. This is taboo as it causes immense strain on the mind to the point of losing it. Some attempt this anyway to avoid growing old or dying from incurable sickness. Making a new body entirely is not seen as possible.

Synthetic Humans are almost like humanoid robots in their strangely mechanical nature. The antennae are retractable but not naturally removable. Parts of their skeletons can unweave into metal drills. These aspects and more can make it difficult to fully blend in with normal humans, so they’re often recluse. It’s an unspoken rule to never go to a human hospital.

Bucs

A Buc’s “mask” is their actual face. It is thick and hard, covering all of the front of the head, but is flexible enough to allow for emoting. However, facial emoting is usually very stiff. The mouth does not move like lips; they often don’t move their mouths at all while talking other than opening and closing their teeth. Faces come in many colors. Painting them is like wearing makeup.

Their facial structure can vary widely. They’ll have three holes for the eyes and nose. The hole for the nose is called a “false eye” due to the fact that it moves the same way as the eye holes. It’s possible for them to have an extra two hollows in the face resembling the false eye that are useless. There’s also false teeth where the mouth’s edges are jagged or pointed.

Horns usually grow from the face. The most common amount of horns is 2. They can be any shape.

Tails can be large or even nonexistent but most are fairly small. They’re always thick.

Bucs have a three-compartment stomach.
